Week 10

On chapter 6 of  Steel like an artist,  the author states that we don't have to be anywhere to start connecting with the world we want to be part of. He states that our inspiration can be found online, that we can make a little place our own, but doesn't mean that the geography has nothing to do with anything. He claims that we should leave the place we are currently on and live somewhere else. Experience something we are not comfortable with. We can only do so much to make our brain uncomfortable, that doesn't mean its impossible. This brings me to my previous blog post. We can pick up a new hobby, for example i want to learn to play a guitar. When i didn't have time to draw or paint, I started to write poetry and thats a whole other type of art genre, but it helps. The author claims to surround our selves with interesting people. The best way to meet interesting people its to just be social. Go out with friends in the bars,  you never know who you are gonna meet, go...

Week 9

On chapter 6 of Steel like an artist, the author states that we shouldn't rush to make it big as an artist as soon as we leave school. He said that we should take our time and focus on our art and perfect our style. We have the opportunity to grow our skill before we get it out, and that brings me to his next point. He says that we should have a presence online where we try and wonder about things that others don't. that we should try and focus that instead of following the flow. Also a kick in the pants its the almost the same meaning as the "double edge sword", or "backfiring." meaning for every action there is consequences.

On chapter 5 of  Steal Like an Artist, the author just states the importance of having many hobbies or projects to bounce in between them, and the importance of not doing anything, the author says he get most of his genius ideas when he is completely bored and to not discard our real passion because our happiness comes from that passion or hobby.     The author Austin Kleon  says “Creative people need time to just sit around and do nothing.” I'm a tend to be busy person, I don't really like to do nothing. I usually take the time to just focus on me, an example would be working out to stay fit and healthy and going out with friends to get a couple of drinks, but there are some days where I absolutely do nothing, usually I'm really tired so i just sleep and play video games. The author also says that it’s very important to have a hobby, and I have a couple. For starters I love to do  strength training  in order to stay physically healthy, I l...

Chapter 4 of STEAL LIKE AN ARTIST, the author Austin Kleon emphasizes that we need to step away from the computer. Therese something about using our hands that connects with our art. The computers are great tools to make the final touch. He claims that sitting in front of a computer is kills us and our work. I actually agree with the author, I do believe  e ngaging more of our senses produce better work. There is something about touching traditional tools that just triggers our brain. I don't  think it's just me, there are many artist of different genres that feel the same. Computers are great, its a great tool for what ever art a person is doing. From illustration to music, an example is Dr. Dre. He is known for being a great music producer. He said that theres nothing better then real life instrument in a studio, something about the sound being better then just a computer generated sounds. Like I said, there is something about traditional tools that connects with our brain...

Sparco wheel/O.Z. Racing Chapter 3 of  Steal Like an Artist, the author suggest to put all of our creative inspiration into something we want to see, or nay art in general we want to make. On page 47, Austin Kleon suggests  to write the story you want to read. He then suggests I apply this manifesto in my life. I honestly wouldn't re-write my past, I am proud of where I come from. If i was to re-write the past i wouldn't be the person i am today. And on the future, I have goals. I will try and achieve them, but nothing in life is promise. Not saying i'll give up, I'm for sure gonna pursue what i want its just the the future can be unexpected. This would be a collaboration idea I would like to have with Sparco. I just would like to illustrate their products into some illustrattion.
