Week 10

On chapter 6 of Steel like an artist, the author states that we don't have to be anywhere to start connecting with the world we want to be part of. He states that our inspiration can be found online, that we can make a little place our own, but doesn't mean that the geography has nothing to do with anything. He claims that we should leave the place we are currently on and live somewhere else. Experience something we are not comfortable with.
We can only do so much to make our brain uncomfortable, that doesn't mean its impossible. This brings me to my previous blog post. We can pick up a new hobby, for example i want to learn to play a guitar. When i didn't have time to draw or paint, I started to write poetry and thats a whole other type of art genre, but it helps.
The author claims to surround our selves with interesting people. The best way to meet interesting people its to just be social. Go out with friends in the bars,  you never know who you are gonna meet, go special events you are interested in.

Death Note Vol. 1
A while back I checked out 10 books and one of them is the one above. I thought it was a full book turns out its a serious of graphic novels. On the first volume we meet a normal high school student who is tired of the world. until something falls from the sky while he is in class, turns out he is the only one that notices it. When he checks out what fell turns out to be a notebook with the tittle Death Note, He picks it up and takes it home. He opens the notebook and it has rules, and one of them is that if you put a persons name with a picture of how he looks on the owners mind he'll die of a stroke, unless written with details how he should die, then all of a sudden a demon appears who is the former owner of the notebook, The demon says he let it fall to see what would humans do with the power. So later on on the end of the volume the protagonist sees a girl being sexually harassed, till somebody calls the harassers name, so he quickly wrote the name of the person down with the description that he shall die by being ran over. After a couple of minutes the person trips and gets hit by a bus killing him. and thats how the 1st volume ends, its actually intriguing, I might check out the whole series.

                     
The reason I chose this movies, show posters, and store ads is because well its just a teaser, you wouldn't know what its gonna be about till later on or they will give hints like the Starbuck poster, for example i remember seeing Battle: Los angeles posters at the theaters. I didn't know what it was about till i saw the trailers later on. They don't give you any titles in any teaser.

On chapter 8 of  Steal like an artist,  Austin Kleon states that we should live our ordinary and boring life, that going out, hooking up and getting high is over rated. He also states that we should learn about how to hold and save money, and to have a day job in order to make a little money. Also to mark things out in life for example get a calendar for future events and a logbook to keep us on track on what we worked on. And lastly he says that we should marry carefully, to find someone who is willing to put up with us and hold us down. Like i said before Kleon said that we should have a routine. My routine consist of going to school and work on school work before i head to work. I usually head to work after school, but after work I tend to go to the gym for 2 hours. afterwards I go home sleep, but on my days off is where i try to do some art or my hobbies that i have. Week 4

the author of  Steal Like an Artist  mentions to always be reading, i choose this books because they entertain me, and I find them fun and intriguing. this types of books is usually what i read i find inspiration and learn knew stuff. The stack on top are books I'm thinking of checking out, like the graphic novels they have very great art inside them, for example one of them was made by a Japanese author.  This is a book that Austin Kleon recommends reading,  and i found interest on. This is some inspiration i found for project 6. the first image was the cover for XXL magazine for 2013, shows the new wave of rappers, while the other is the cover and some of the inside pages of the KITH & TOMMY HILFIGER collaboration.

Week 11

On chapter 8 of Steal like an artist, Austin Kleon states that we should make friends and ignore the enemies, to keep our heads up and ignore the haters. That we should write fan letters to our heroes even if they don't reply, and to always keep the compliment of the people if we get e–mails from them, and deleting the nasty ones. On page 102, the author suggests that we follow people who are way smarter than us. Ironically I been doing that for the past couple of years. I have 2 friends who I consider successful hustlers; they both own business and seem to be doing great. One of them is Jilani, he owns a used car dealer ship and also owns a couple of houses that he uses to rent out. His favorite phrase is "  scared money makes no money." My other friend owns a video game store named WE PLAY GAMES , his name is Victor and he always tells me to never burn bridges even if we don't like them, because we never know when we might need their connections.
